Phases of Landscaping
Some aerial views of this Finca Garden we are soon completing. When you have a garden this size it is very convenient to do it in phases, this will help keep track of the plant performance, water consumption, and maintenance. I can’t emphasize enough how much care is needed in the first weeks and months of planting, when irrigation has just been installed and baby plants can’t go for long without water.
Trying to plant in Spring and Autumn when weather is mild is a bonus. Feeding the ground, using good quality soil will ensure the plants have a good start in your new garden and if possible use some form of mulch to keep the humidity on the plants. We’re using tree bark, it looks instantly great but I know its pricey, so if the garden is very large I often recommend to make your own, by collecting all the leaves and cuttings and literally leaving them on the ground. This way you stop the weeds at the same time as stop the sun drying up the soil so fast. We must always remember that Gardening is a process, our gardens are an alive ecosystem and they need taking care of with much love. 💚
Happy gardening my friends!
